Author Guidelines
General submission rules
Instructions for authors are written as a guide for submission of manuscripts. The limits put on the number of words, references and figures are there to speed the reviewing and editorial process. Authors are strongly recommended to use the Open Journal Systems. Authors are advised to contact the editors at editorial@ibscientific.net for any specific queries about their submissions.
What is the IBScientific Journal of science (IBS JoS)?
IBS JoS (ISSN: 1751-0724; and NLM ID: 101276223) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access, and multidisciplinary journal. IBS JoS is a free-to-publish online quarterly published by the IBScientific publishing group since 2006.
The disciplines covered in the Journal include the sciences, engineering, technology, social sciences, and the arts.
IBS JoS is open to contributions from anywhere in the world and considers manuscripts from authors in the developing countries. Further, IBS JoS encourages student and junior scientists/academics to submit manuscripts for publications. See below of the types of manuscripts published by IBS JoS.
Our audience is the international scientific community as well as educators, policy makers, and the public.
IBS JoS Scope
IBS JoS is a multidisciplinary journal that publishes empirical and conceptual papers in any discipline of science, technology, arts or social sciences. The Journal provides an international forum for refereed original articles, letters, essays, reviews and focus issue papers covering any field of active research.
Why publish in IBS JoS?
IBS JoS is an open access Journal so your research will be freely available, increasing your potential to be cited.
IBS JoS is already indexed in the Chemical Abstracts of the American Chemical society, Google Scholar and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) making your work widely available. We are working on specialised and general database such as Scopus and the social sciences abstracts.
IBS JoS is catalogued by the NCBI national library of medicine (NLM ID: 101276223)
IBS JoS is a free-to-publish Journal. No fees are paid at any stage of the process.
IBS JoS apply a double-blind peer reviewing process. Identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential ensuring complete anonymity.

The editorial process
Open Journal Systems (OJS)
To make it easier for authors to track the progress of their manuscript, we have adopted the Open Journal System for our current publications.
How do manuscripts get published through OJS?
Authors submit manuscripts online filling all the necessary information, otherwise the manuscript will NOT be processed for reviewing and their articles if acceptable may NOT be indexed. The manuscript should adhere to IBScientific guidelines on word and figure limits, and the whole manuscript (including references, figures, legends and supplementary information) should be submitted as single document file preferably PDF. After completing the submission, the chief editor will forward the manuscript to the appropriate chief reviewer. The chief reviewer initiates the double-blind reviewing process, and communications on the manuscript will be exchanged between authors and reviewers through the chief reviewer for a maximum of two rounds. The chief reviewers pass the preliminary decision on the manuscript to the chief editor after consulting the reviewers. The chief editor may accept or reject the manuscript in its improved format. Upon acceptance, the chief editor contacts the authors to request original formats for figures, tables, text… After receiving all information, the manuscript is proofread and copyedited before an immediate open access publication. The authors will be made aware when the manuscript will be published in an issue of the Journal.
Immediate open access and subscriptions
To access immediate open access, readers will be required to subscribe and register for free. The registration will allow the readers to volunteer as reviewers, copyeditors and proofreaders for IBScientific publications. Also, subscribers will have access to other resources in IBScientific such as the forum and table of contents (ToC) updates.
Submission guidelines
All submitted manuscripts are subject to double blind peer-reviewing except news and previews, which are edited and reviewed by the editorial board.
No fees will be charged at any stage of the editorial process. Donations are welcome.
word counts and reference cited for each type of manuscripts limits are maximal.

Comprehensive or literature reviews
are fully comprehensive review that addresses a problem, a concept, or
an introductory reading to a particular subject. They are akin to book chapters and PhD thesis introduction. In the latter case, Editors and Chief reviewers at IBS JoS will be happy to edit and peer-review the introduction of a recent PhD thesis to be considered for publication. Reviews of this type should not exceed 10000 words and 200 references.
Current trends reviews
A review that addresses the current trends in a particular field and its wide implications. Such reviews will focus on presenting the readers with a brief general introduction, followed by the progress of the field in the recent years culminating in the implications and future research directions. The authors are encouraged to identify seminal papers and highlight their importance within the reference list. The authors are limited to 7000 words and 100 references.
Minireviews
An overview of current key findings published in the literature. Minireviews will focus on examining the substance and implication of recently published key or seminal findings in any peer reviewed Journal. Minireviews should provide sufficient details explaining: a concise introduction to the subject, the results and conclusions of the high profile findings, the scientific methodology, the novelty, and the implications of the results. Authors are encouraged to provide a perspective on the field. Minreviews word count should not exceed 4.000 words and are limited to 50 references.
Authors who have published high impact papers are encouraged to submit minireviews directly to the editors.
Other papers
News

All news submitted should include the original source such as the Journal were the work was reported as well as other sources of information the author might have used (e.g. newspapers or news websites). News should be between 800 and 1500 words long. News are edited and reviewed by the editorial board.
